Thanks. That's an interesting but appropriate way of describing my idea here.
The strings are meant to be like wires holding up those red bridge-like things (with the text).
I can get if you see something else there though. That's kind of the point of these more abstract pieces. I don't do any kind of planning for them so sometimes my ideas don't come out in a way other people recognize.
I could probably revise them, using my current versions as drafts, but I don't like dwelling on the negative emotions in them too much. Maybe when I'm feeling more stable myself I'll do something like that.
It seems like you got the ultimate meaning. There is some quote I heard once that describes it. I can't remember it exactly but the gist of it was that people who go to hell (or a dark place) spend part of their lives being pushed toward hell by someone else and the other part of their lives seeking hell on their own.
I think failure is caused by a mixture of inner and outer influences. Part of us failing is our own fault but there are also cases where we face insurmountable odds and just can't get past that.
